国际象棋 2.4 分区赛在6月7～16日进行，现已结束，Giovanni Vescovi赢得冠军，并获得世界锦标赛出线权。另一个出线席位由获得第2，3名的Gilberto Milos 和 Darcy Lima 加赛4局快棋产生。 

Giovanni Vescovi won the Zone 2.4 tournament held in the Sao Paulo Chess Club 7th-16th June 2001. The second qualification place for the FIDE Championships will be decided in a four game match between Gilberto Milos Jr. and Darcy Lima.
